Your stock figure is wrong and everyone knows it
Oxana implements supply chain and inventory management for Australian businesses on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. Microsoft Cloud Solutions Partner serving Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The most expensive line item nobody has on a report
Not badly wrong. Just wrong enough that nobody quite trusts it. So the warehouse counts things. Purchasing buys a bit extra to be safe. Sales rings the warehouse before promising anything. And the business quietly funds a buffer of inventory that exists purely to compensate for a number nobody believes.
That buffer is the most expensive line item nobody has on a report.
Oxana implements supply chain and inventory management for Australian businesses on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. We are a Microsoft Cloud Solutions Partner working across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Which platform is right for you
This matters more than most partners admit, and choosing wrong is expensive in both directions.
Business Central
Handles supply chain for most Australian SMBs. Purchasing, inventory, multiple locations, assembly, light manufacturing, warehouse receipt and pick, demand planning.
If you are under a few hundred staff and running a handful of sites, it is very likely the right answer and it is a fraction of the cost.
Supply Chain Management
The enterprise platform. Full warehouse management with wave picking, complex production, multi entity, deep quality management.
It is genuinely more capable and it is genuinely more expensive to licence and implement.
Plenty of Australian partners sell only one and therefore recommend only one. Oxana implements both and has no incentive to push you up. We have told clients Business Central was enough when the bigger licence would have been a better sale for us. That is the point of asking us.
What you get either way
Supply chain management software and inventory management capabilities that remove the buffer and the phone calls.
Inventory you can trust
Real time levels by location, bin and lot. Serial and batch tracking with full traceability, which matters if you are in food, medical devices or anything with a recall obligation.
Purchasing with a brain
Reorder points, minimum and maximum quantities, lead times per supplier, requisition worksheets that tell you what to buy and when. Not what someone remembers.
Demand planning
Forecasting built from actual sales history, with visibility into what is committed against what is on hand and what is on the water. Australian importers live and die on lead times and this is where that gets managed.
Warehouse operations
Directed receipt, put away, pick and ship. Barcode scanning. Cycle counting that replaces the annual stocktake and its associated shutdown.
Landed cost
Freight, duty, insurance and customs allocated across the shipment so your actual margin is your actual margin. If you import into Australia and you are not doing this properly, your gross margin report is telling you a story.
Supplier performance
On time delivery, quality, price variance by supplier. Data for the next negotiation.
Where it connects
Because Dynamics 365 sits on the same Microsoft cloud as the rest of your stack, the joins are already there.
Business Central finance
Inventory value, cost of goods and the GL reconcile automatically because they are the same system.
Dynamics 365 Sales
Reps see availability and lead time while quoting rather than promising something that is not there.
Field Service
Van stock is inventory, consumed against the job, replenished automatically.
Power BI and Power Platform
Stock turns, ageing, dead stock and margin in one place. The process specific to your industry gets built rather than worked around. Oxana AI Studio does that in house.
How we deliver
We go to the warehouse, we scope the data work honestly, and we plan the cutover to the hour.
Discovery
We go to the warehouse. Every time. Supply chain projects designed from a boardroom fail in the aisle, and the person on the forklift will tell you more in twenty minutes than a process map will in a week.
Platform recommendation
In writing, with the reasoning, before you commit to anything.
Data
This is the hard part and we will not pretend otherwise. Item masters are almost always a mess. Duplicate SKUs, inconsistent units of measure, costs nobody has reviewed in years. Cleaning that is real work and we scope it honestly rather than discovering it in week six.
Design
Locations, bins, costing method, replenishment rules, warehouse flows. Costing method in particular is a decision with long consequences and we will make sure you understand it rather than defaulting it.
Build and test
Sandbox, then a full test of your actual peak scenarios. Not a demo.
Cutover
Stocktake, load, go live, hypercare. Warehouse cutovers are unforgiving because you cannot pause the business. We plan them to the hour.
Ongoing
Oxana stays for the tuning. Reorder points always need adjusting once real demand data arrives.
Who this suits
Australian wholesalers, distributors, importers, light manufacturers and multi site retailers, roughly ten to two hundred staff.
Typically the trigger is that you have outgrown MYOB, Xero plus a spreadsheet, or an inventory tool that does not talk to finance.
If you have internal IT, Oxana works alongside your team rather than around them. They keep ownership. We bring the depth that does not justify a full time hire. That is the co managed model we built the business on.
Common questions
About supply chain management software, inventory management and warehouse management systems for Australian businesses.
Business Central or Supply Chain Management. Which one?
For most Australian SMBs, Business Central. The threshold is usually complex production, genuine warehouse management with wave picking, or multi entity consolidation. We assess it properly during discovery and put the recommendation in writing.
What does it cost in Australia?
Business Central is significantly less per user than Supply Chain Management, and the total cost of ownership gap is significant. Implementation is separate, scoped and fixed price after discovery.
Can we migrate from MYOB, Xero, Unleashed or Cin7?
Yes, all common starting points. Transactional history and item masters migrate. The honest conversation is about how much history is worth bringing.
How long does it take?
A Business Central supply chain rollout for a single site distributor runs twelve to sixteen weeks. Multiple sites, manufacturing or Supply Chain Management extend it considerably. Data quality is the variable that moves the date most.
Do we need barcode scanners?
Not to start. Most clients go live on the core and add scanning in a second phase once the process is stable. Doing both at once is how warehouse projects get into trouble.
